Émile Vernier Instruments — Overview
Émile Vernier is a line of instruments, created by Ilja Grawert -Violinmaker, modelled after a Parisian atelier producing handcrafted violins, violas, and cellos, as well as a small selection of bows. The workshop follows the traditions of the great French luthiers of the 19th and early 20th centuries: meticulous hand-work, deep respect for materials, and a belief that a fine instrument should serve the musician, not the other way around.
The philosophy is simple. Every instrument, regardless of price, receives the same fundamental care. The differences between models lie in the amount of individual attention, the age and quality of the wood, and the complexity of the varnish. No instrument leaves the workshop until it is ready to be played in public.

All Vernier instruments are made from seasoned northern tonewoods —and the Master models from Alpine spruce and Carpathian or Bosnian maple — and finished by hand in the tradition of a Paris atelier.
